Plitvica

Plitvica is the most popular travel destination in Croatia. The main feature of Jezera National Park is the 16 beautiful lakes in shades of turquoise and striking plitvice waterfalls. Many people travel to Plitvica to enjoy its great waterfalls, hiking, and lakes.

Plitvica - The Land before Time

The unique features of PLitvica's - the natural barriers, pools, cascades, caves, and crags - are the result of thousands of years of interaction between water and the dolomite rock and limestone that form the lake’s continuously evolving Karstic basin.

Proscansko Lake is the largest (68.2ha), deepest (37.4m) and highest (636.6m) of Plitvice's Upper lakes and the most remote as it's surrounded by dense forest.

Okrugljak lake is known for its 53m long cave that contains two halls and a small pond. The travertine formations here are exceptionally beautiful.

Gradinsko Lake surrounded by reeds, this lake is a favourite nesting place of ducks. From its shores, there are peaceful views over the Plitvice National Park.

Due to its natural beauty and significance Plitvica is considered to be one of the most beautiful natural sights and tourist attractive destination in Europe.
